Course description
This course is designed to help project managers and teams streamline collaboration, standardize project structures, and manage multiple projects efficiently using Microsoft Project. This course focuses on advanced project management techniques such as creating templates, sharing resources, and integrating subprojects into a master plan. Learners begin by exploring how to configure default project settings to ensure consistency across new project files. The course then walks through the process of saving project templates, including how to clean up project-specific data and define reusable structures. Learners will also learn how to use the Content Organizer to manage and transfer custom views, tables, filters, and calendars between project files or into the global template. A key focus of the course is on resource management across multiple projects. Students will learn about creating and connecting to a shared resource pool, allowing for centralized resource tracking and conflict resolution. The course also covers how to compare different versions of a project to identify changes in scope, cost, or schedule. Finally, learners will discover how to consolidate multiple project plans into a single master project, enabling program-level oversight and coordination.
