AI can produce polished-sounding work in seconds. But polish isn’t the same as quality. A paragraph that reads professionally but says nothing. A summary that organizes the wrong things. A confident-sounding output that’s subtly wrong. This is AI slop: output that looks finished on the surface but lacks the accuracy, specificity, relevance, or judgment to be genuinely useful.
