Course description

The course covers a full journey for using Copilot in Excel to clean data, analyze it, shape multi‑table models, forecast trends, and build dashboards. It begins with foundational skills: saving files to OneDrive, using tables, navigating the Copilot pane, and understanding the “science vs. art” balance in prompting. Early lessons focus on data quality, identifying errors, and creating simple calculated columns. Learners then practice multi‑step prompts, where Copilot executes chained instructions such as cleaning data, converting it to a table, adding calculated fields, and generating summaries. The series then expands into multi‑table shaping, showing how Copilot detects relationships, infers keys, and joins tables without manual modeling. Students build a combined results table and learn how Copilot interprets column patterns, table names, and repeated values to create a coherent analytical structure. Next, the forecasting module demonstrates how Copilot uses Excel’s ETS engine to detect trends, seasonality, and noise, producing forward‑looking projections, confidence intervals, and charts from clean time‑series data. The final section focuses on dashboard creation. Copilot identifies insights across the workbook, recommends an executive‑level layout, builds the dashboard, and then guides fine‑tuning. This series comes with two workborks that can be downloaded. One containing the raw starting data that will be used in the exercises, and one that can be viewed as an example of a final product.
