Course description
This course introduces learners to the power of logical functions in Google Sheets, enabling smarter data analysis and decision-making. Through eight practical lessons, participants will explore how to use conditional logic to evaluate data, automate calculations, and apply rules that enhance spreadsheet functionality. The course begins with an overview of logical functions and operators, focusing on the foundational IF function. Learners will build on this by creating conditional statements that return different outcomes based on specified criteria. They’ll then explore how to combine multiple conditions using AND and OR, and how to manage more complex logic with nested IF statements and the IFS function. Participants will also learn to use conditional statistical functions such as SUMIF, AVERAGEIF, and COUNTIF, as well as their plural counterparts, to extract and summarize data based on specific conditions. The course covers the IFERROR function to handle and customize error messages, ensuring cleaner and more user-friendly spreadsheets. Additional lessons introduce data validation techniques to control input values, and grouping tools to organize large datasets for easier viewing and analysis. By the end of the course, learners will be able to apply logical functions and data tools to create dynamic, accurate, and interactive spreadsheets that support better data-driven decisions.
