Course description
Claude Cowork represents a fundamental shift in how knowledge workers interact with AI. While Claude Chat is a powerful conversational tool, Cowork takes it a step further . It operates as an agentic AI that can plan, execute, and complete multi-step tasks on your behalf, delivering finished work rather than conversational responses. In this module, the first in a three-part series, you will develop the mental model and practical skills needed to begin using Claude Cowork with confidence. The course opens with a side-by-side demonstration comparing Claude Chat and Cowork on the same task, allowing you to see the agentic difference in action before a single concept is explained. From there, you will learn what agentic AI means in the context of your daily work, how it differs from fully autonomous AI agents, and how to shift from prompt-based thinking to outcome-first thinking. You will then walk through the complete Cowork setup process, including installing Claude Desktop, connecting folders, understanding the task approval flow, and maintaining appropriate human oversight. The module closes with a full end-to-end demonstration using a real business scenario showing Cowork researching live sources, populating a professional document template, and saving a finished deliverable directly to a local folder. By the end of this module, you will have a working Cowork setup and the confidence to run your first real task independently.
