Course description

Microsoft Teams provides powerful tools for hosting structured online events, from interactive webinars to large-scale town halls. This course introduces the Microsoft Teams Events experience and shows organizers how to create, configure, manage, and deliver professional events using the Teams Events app. Participants will learn how to choose the right event format based on audience size, participation needs, registration requirements, and production goals. The course covers the core setup process for webinars and town halls, including event creation, registration, attendee access, presenter roles, permissions, branding, recordings, captions, Q&A, polls, and other engagement features. The course also explores the differences between interactive webinar experiences and broadcast-style town halls. Learners will see how to configure webinar registration and attendee participation, as well as how to use town hall production tools such as the green room, attendee preview, stage management, and controls for what attendees see during the event. In addition, participants will learn how to share content and media, manage presenters, troubleshoot common technical issues, and use Teams reporting and analytics after an event. Throughout the course, demonstrations focus primarily on the Microsoft Teams Events app while also introducing the alternate Calendar-based event creation experience. By the end of the course, learners will be better prepared to confidently configure and manage Microsoft Teams webinars and town halls from initial setup through post-event review.
