Course description

Microsoft Planner Premium helps organizations move beyond simple task lists by providing powerful project planning, scheduling, collaboration, and reporting capabilities within Microsoft 365. Designed for project managers, team leaders, department managers, project coordinators, and business professionals responsible for planning and executing work across teams, this course provides practical guidance for managing projects from setup through completion. Learners will explore the Planner Premium interface, licensing considerations, project workspaces, templates, naming conventions, and project settings before building schedules with tasks, summary tasks, milestones, durations, assignments, priorities, labels, notes, attachments, and checklists. The course also explains task dependencies, lead and lag time, critical paths, and schedule impacts. Learners will use Timeline and Gantt views, filters, grouping, baselines, resource assignments, capacity considerations, and workload balancing to organize and manage project work. Additional topics include tracking percent complete, status updates, progress reporting, dashboards, Teams integration, conversations, meetings, file collaboration, sharing, permissions, notifications, alerts, comments, risks, issues, escalation, and documentation. Finally, learners will examine reports, portfolio views, executive summaries, planning strategies, governance, naming standards, communication practices, and lessons learned.
