Course description

PivotTables in Excel 365 provide a powerful way to organize, summarize, and analyze large amounts of data without requiring complex formulas. This course introduces learners to the fundamentals of PivotTables and PivotCharts, giving them the tools to transform raw data into meaningful insights. We begin by exploring what PivotTables are, how they work, and why they are invaluable for summarizing repetitive or detailed datasets. The course then walks through the steps of creating PivotTables, including preparing data, converting ranges into tables, and inserting PivotTables from scratch or using Excel’s recommended options. A major focus is the PivotTable Fields pane, where learners will discover how to structure data by dragging fields into rows, columns, filters, and values. This includes best practices for assigning descriptive data to rows and columns and numerical data to values. The course also covers basic organizational tasks such as grouping, filtering, and refreshing data, along with customizing PivotTable settings. Next, learners will explore formatting tools available in the Design tab, including subtotal and grand total placement, report layouts, and style options. By applying these tools, users can create PivotTables that are not only accurate but also clear and visually appealing. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to quickly analyze datasets, answer complex business questions, and present their findings in a professional, organized way.
