Course description

Navigating and viewing Excel workbooks effectively is essential for productivity and accuracy, especially when working with large or inherited files. This course introduces learners to the many tools in Excel 365 that make viewing, customizing, and managing workbook environments easier. The course begins with workbook views, showing how to switch between Normal View for everyday tasks, Page Break Preview for managing print layouts, and Page Layout View for a document-style perspective. Learners also explore custom views, which allow them to save and return to personalized display settings. Next, the course covers zoom tools, from preset zoom percentages to the zoom slider and mouse shortcuts, making it simple to adjust visibility for different data sets. Participants will then configure sheet options such as toggling gridlines, headings, and the formula bar, with control over whether these elements are displayed on screen or included in print jobs. The course also explores Freeze Panes and Split commands, powerful features for holding headers in place and comparing data across multiple sections of a worksheet simultaneously. Finally, learners will work with workbook properties and statistics, editing metadata like titles, authors, and tags, as well as reviewing built-in statistics such as revision history, total editing time, and worksheet counts. By the end of this course, participants will know how to use Excel 365’s viewing and navigation tools to create customized work environments, improve readability, streamline collaboration, and gain insights into workbook history and structure.
