Course description

Printing in Excel can often feel more complicated than in Word or PowerPoint because spreadsheets are not naturally sized to fit neatly onto paper. In this course, learners will explore the full range of tools in Excel 365 that make printing manageable, predictable, and professional. The course begins with printing basics, including accessing print preview and selecting the correct printer, before moving into layout adjustments that ensure spreadsheets are properly scaled and legible. Learners will discover how to customize margins, apply scaling to fit columns and rows onto one page, and use orientation and paper size adjustments to improve readability. The course then explores headers and footers, demonstrating how to add page numbers, dates, file names, or other useful identifiers that provide context across multi-page printouts. Students will also learn to apply print titles, ensuring that column headings repeat across all printed pages, and to define custom print areas when only specific sections of a worksheet need to be shared. Additional formatting options, such as inserting backgrounds, adjusting themes, and printing gridlines or row/column headings, are covered to further refine page appearance. Finally, learners will explore exporting Excel files as PDF or XPS documents, creating portable and secure versions of their work that retain all formatting and layout choices. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge to print and distribute spreadsheets that look polished, professional, and easy to interpret whether on paper or in digital form.
