Course description

Formatting is a key part of making spreadsheets both functional and professional, and Excel 365 provides flexible options for managing columns, rows, cell styles, and themes. This course introduces learners to the tools needed to structure data clearly, control workbook appearance, and create consistency across worksheets. Participants begin with adjusting column widths and row heights, learning how to manually resize, auto-fit content, or set precise measurements, as well as insert and remove columns and rows for better organization. The course also covers hiding and unhiding rows or columns to protect sensitive data, streamline worksheets, or simply remove unnecessary clutter without deleting information. Moving into visual formatting, learners will explore cell styles, a library of pre-designed formats that can be quickly applied to headings, calculations, inputs, or explanatory text, as well as the option to create custom cell styles tailored to organizational needs. Finally, the course focuses on workbook-wide themes, showing how to apply built-in or custom themes that automatically update default colors, fonts, and effects across worksheets, charts, and tables. Learners will also discover how to customize theme components individually and save them for future use. These features make it possible to establish a polished, professional look with minimal effort, ensuring that data is not only accurate but also easy to interpret and visually appealing. By the end of this course, participants will have the skills to manage structural formatting, apply consistent styles, and enhance the design of their Excel workbooks with professional themes.
