Course description

This course focuses on proofing and navigating large worksheets efficiently using Excel’s built-in tools. You’ll start with Find and Replace to locate values, formats, or formulas quickly, using options to search by sheet or workbook, match case or entire cell contents, and standardize entries without scrolling through endless rows. Next, you’ll use Go To and Go To Special to jump directly to references and isolate specific cell types, such as constants, blanks, formulas by result type, current regions, and data validation, ideal for targeted edits and quick audits. The course then covers spell checking for text fields, showing how suggestions, Ignore, Add to Dictionary, Change, and Change All streamline cleanup while respecting names and domain terms. You’ll learn where spelling applies (text labels and headers) and where it does not (numeric fields), so you focus effort where it matters. Finally, you’ll explore the Thesaurus to vary wording in labels and titles, and use the Translator pane to create quick translations for shared workbooks, with practical tips for copying results into cells and maintaining clarity. Accessibility considerations are highlighted, including when to review for readability and consistent terminology. By the end, you will understand how these features complement each other to help you locate, correct, and refine content rapidly, keeping worksheets accurate, consistent, and clear without disrupting underlying calculations.
