Course description
This course shows how to fine-tune worksheet visibility, navigation, and multitasking, and how to label files so they’re easy to find later. You’ll start with sheet display controls in the View tab, toggling gridlines, headings, the formula bar, and the ruler to focus attention on the data that matters, while understanding how borders differ from gridlines. You’ll work in Normal and Page Layout views to see how on-screen choices influence printed pages. Next, you’ll keep context in place with Freeze Panes, freezing the top row, the first column, or a custom pane based on your current selection, so headers remain visible as you scroll. You’ll compare distant areas without constant scrolling by splitting a sheet into independent panes and adjusting the split bars precisely. Then you’ll use window commands to open additional windows of the same workbook, arrange them side by side, and optionally hide or show windows as you focus on different regions of large worksheets. Finally, you’ll improve discoverability by updating workbook properties: add a clear title, tags, categories, and other advanced metadata so your files are easier to search and manage in a shared environment. By the end, you’ll understand how these options work together to create clean views, efficient navigation, and well-described files that support faster review and collaboration without adding clutter.
