Course description
This course introduces formatting features in Microsoft Excel 2019 that enhance visual design, clarity, and professionalism through cell styles, workbook themes, and image integration. Learners begin with built-in cell styles, which make it easy to apply consistent formatting to text, numbers, and headings. The course covers preset styles such as Good, Bad, and Neutral, along with specialized styles for data models, calculations, and outputs. Participants see how these styles influence font, color, and alignment, and they also learn to create custom cell styles by defining number formats, borders, and fill patterns to meet specific formatting needs. The course then expands to workbook themes, showing how themes coordinate fonts, colors, and effects across every worksheet. Learners practice applying, modifying, and saving themes to maintain a consistent look across projects, while also seeing how a theme change can instantly update color palettes and cell styles throughout a workbook. Finally, the course introduces image formatting, teaching learners how to insert, resize, crop, and edit images from local or online sources. Using Excel’s Picture Tools, learners adjust brightness, contrast, borders, artistic effects, alignment, and layering.
