Course description

This course introduces PivotCharts and slicers in Excel 2019, expanding PivotTables by showing how to visualize and interact with summarized data. Participants create PivotCharts directly from existing PivotTables, using familiar chart types to represent key insights, and learn which chart types are compatible. The course shows how PivotCharts update dynamically as the source PivotTable changes and how they remain linked to their data. Learners manage multiple charts effectively by maintaining separate PivotTables for different visualizations. Lessons cover the PivotChart Analyze, Design, and Format tabs, including adjusting styles, switching rows and columns, and removing field buttons for cleaner layouts. Next, participants filter data through the PivotChart or underlying PivotTable and refine chart formatting for presentation or reporting. The second portion focuses on slicers and timeline slicers for interactive filtering. Learners use slicers as intuitive, clickable filters that instantly adjust PivotTables and PivotCharts, and customize slicer appearance and layout. The course demonstrates connecting slicers and timelines to multiple PivotTables when they share the same data type, controlling data by issue, category, or date range. Participants practice timeline slicers for period-based analysis, adjusting levels of detail from days to years. By the end, learners can create interactive dashboards that combine PivotTables, PivotCharts, and slicers to visualize, filter, and explore data dynamically within Excel.
