Course description
This course explores how to visualize and forecast data trends in Excel 2019 using tools that improve clarity and support better decision-making. You’ll begin by learning how to apply trendlines to charts to reveal patterns that may not be obvious in raw data. The course explains several trendline types, including linear, exponential, moving average, and forecast trendlines, showing how each can highlight long-term direction or short-term variation. You’ll also learn how to use the Forecast Sheet feature to generate predictive charts with confidence intervals and configurable settings such as confidence level, forecast range, and seasonality. The course then demonstrates how to save and reuse chart designs through chart templates. By creating templates from customized charts, you can apply consistent formatting and styling across multiple datasets while reducing repetitive work. The final section focuses on sparklines, compact cell-based visuals that summarize trends when space is limited. You’ll learn how to insert, edit, and format sparklines, select from line, column, and win/loss types, and adjust axis settings to support accurate comparisons across multiple rows of data. By the end of the course, you’ll understand how to use trendlines, forecast sheets, chart templates, and sparklines together to identify patterns, communicate trends clearly, and create consistent visual summaries that support data analysis and reporting.
