Sometimes you need totals that only include certain values, averages that apply under specific conditions, or logic that decides whether something qualifies or not. That’s where Excel’s logical and conditional functions come in. This course explores the essential tools that let you set criteria, evaluate data, and create formulas that adapt to different scenarios. You’ll begin by getting comfortable with the IF function, which checks whether a condition is true or false and returns results accordingly. From there, you’ll layer in AND and OR, which make it possible to test multiple conditions at once—whether you want every requirement met or just one. The course covers practical summary tools like SUMIF, AVERAGEIF, and COUNTIF, which allow you to total, average, or count data only when certain criteria are met. Throughout the lessons, you’ll see realistic examples such as determining who qualifies for commissions, counting products by category, or calculating averages by group. You’ll also explore the Evaluate Formula tool to step through your logic and troubleshoot calculations.
