Course description

Formatting is an essential step in making data not only easier to read but also more professional and impactful, and Excel 365 offers a wide range of tools to customize the appearance of cells and worksheets. This course introduces learners to the key formatting features available on the Home tab, starting with how to adjust fonts, sizes, borders, fill colors, and font colors to transform plain spreadsheets into polished reports. Participants will then explore alignment options, including vertical and horizontal alignment, as well as text orientation, wrapping, and merging techniques that make headers and titles stand out. The course also covers merging cells for headings and using Wrap Text or Alt + Enter for multi-line content within a single cell. Number formatting is addressed in detail, highlighting the differences between currency and accounting formats, managing decimal places, and applying percentages, dates, or custom formats to ensure consistency and accuracy across worksheets. Learners will also gain experience with the Format Painter, a powerful tool for reusing formatting quickly across multiple cells, and the Clear Formats option to remove unwanted styling while preserving underlying data. Each feature is designed to help learners improve readability, maintain consistency, and establish a professional look that communicates data clearly and effectively. By the end of this training, participants will have the skills to apply and manage formatting with confidence, ensuring their Excel workbooks are both functional and visually appealing.
