Course description

This course teaches learners how to create, customize, and manage view types in SharePoint 365 lists and libraries so data can be displayed and used more efficiently. Participants learn how views define information presentation and how multiple views support different purposes, then create new views from scratch or duplicate existing ones with “Save view as.” They configure grouping, filtering, sorting, and column selection, and learn the difference between public and personal views, including when to share views across teams versus keep them private. The lessons cover advanced options in “Edit current view,” including multi-level sorting, conditional filters using dynamic expressions like [Today], item limits, and group expansion preferences. Learners then build a Calendar View to display items by date fields such as release or due dates, choosing month, week, work week, or day layouts, defining start and end dates, selecting display titles, and using calculated columns to combine details into a single calendar label. Next, participants create a Gallery (card) View to visualize items as scan-friendly cards, adjusting which fields appear, changing their order, and refining layout for readability. Finally, learners explore Board View, a modern kanban-style display for managing items by stages or categories, building boards from choice columns and moving items between categories for workflows like task tracking or status management. By the end, learners can design views that improve visibility, organization, and collaboration.
