Course description

This course focuses on optimizing SharePoint 365 using alerts, sync features, and view customization to make managing information easier and more efficient. Learners explore SharePoint alerts that automatically notify users of updates without checking the site manually. Lessons show how to create alerts for lists and libraries with the classic “Alert Me” feature, set conditions such as when new items are added or files modified, and choose notification frequency, including immediate, daily, or weekly summaries. Participants also learn to manage or delete alerts through Manage My Alerts and are introduced to rules, a modern alternative for automated responses when files are added, changed, or deleted. Examples demonstrate creating rules that send emails based on specific conditions or field values, offering simplified automation without Power Automate. The course then covers using Sync to connect SharePoint document libraries to a local computer through OneDrive, including signing in with a Microsoft 365 account, working offline, and keeping updates synchronized. It also explains adding shortcuts to OneDrive when direct syncing is restricted, enabling access through File Explorer. Finally, learners create custom views that show items without folders by editing views in the classic interface, enabling “Show all items without folders,” and supporting metadata-driven organization. By the end, participants can automate notifications, sync files locally, and design efficient library views.
