Course description

Charts in Excel 365 allow users to transform raw numbers into visual stories that are easier to interpret and present. Unlike static visuals in other programs, Excel charts are dynamic—changes to worksheet values are automatically reflected in the chart. This course begins by introducing the purpose of charts and the different types available, such as column, bar, line, pie, area, and more advanced options like scatter, combo, or map charts. Learners will then explore how to create charts by selecting appropriate data, inserting chart types, and applying recommended chart layouts based on the dataset. The course also explains chart elements, including titles, legends, axes, gridlines, and data labels, and demonstrates how these vary depending on the chart type. Learners will practice modifying and customizing chart elements to highlight key insights and improve readability. Additionally, the course covers essential tools for changing chart types, switching row and column orientations, and selecting specific data to display. It also shows how to move charts to new locations, including separate chart sheets, to improve clarity and organization. By the end of the course, learners will understand how to choose the right chart for their data, format and adjust chart elements for impact, and ensure charts remain connected to the underlying data. These skills make it easier to communicate findings effectively, create professional reports, and support better decision-making with clear and accurate visuals.
