This course provides SharePoint site owners with the essential knowledge to create, configure, and organize new sites and subsites effectively within Microsoft 365. Learners begin by exploring how to create new SharePoint sites using the SharePoint app in Microsoft 365, understanding the difference between team sites designed for collaboration and communication sites designed for broader information sharing. The lessons explain organizational controls that may restrict site creation and guide users through naming conventions, privacy settings, language options, and adding members or co-owners. Participants see how team sites are automatically linked to Microsoft 365 Groups, providing collaboration tools such as shared mailboxes, calendars, and document libraries. The course continues with creating communication sites using templates tailored for company news, departmental pages, or organizational announcements. Learners will come to understand template layouts, navigation styles, and when to select top or left navigation for user accessibility. The course also introduces integration with Microsoft Teams, showing how team-enabled SharePoint sites can add real-time chat functionality and shared resources directly from Teams.
