Course description

This course teaches SharePoint site owners how to create, edit, and manage pages in modern SharePoint Online (Microsoft 365). Learners start by distinguishing system-generated pages (for lists, libraries, and site contents) from user-created pages stored in the Site Pages library. The course explains how each site’s homepage can be customized and how to build additional pages to present organized, engaging information. Participants work in the modern page editing experience, learning to open pages in edit mode and shape content using sections and layouts. They practice adding one- and multi-column designs, one-third left/right sections, and right-side vertical panels for navigation or quick links. Lessons also cover adjusting alignment, background color, and collapsible sections to improve readability. The training walks through page header options, including layout changes, images, text visibility, and metadata display (such as author and publish date). Learners also manage audience engagement by enabling or disabling comments and use Save, Close, and Republish to control when updates become visible. An overview of Microsoft’s experimental “Spaces” feature introduces 3D, interactive layouts and notes its evolving nature. Finally, learners add and format content with the Text web part (headings, lists, tables, links) and explore the Markdown web part for lightweight formatting and image display when HTML is restricted. The course closes with embedding guidance and accessibility-minded formatting best practices.
