Course description

This course explores how to manage, analyze, and visualize data in SharePoint 365 lists using built-in tools and Microsoft integrations. Learners begin with grid view for Excel-like editing directly in a list, including updating multiple rows, autofilling entries, copying and pasting from Excel, and creating new items quickly. The lessons explain importing requirements such as aligning column order and using proper formats for person, date, and choice fields. Participants then sort, filter, and group list data to navigate large collections, practicing sorting by text, number, or date, filtering to isolate categories, grouping by column values, and displaying totals in views to summarize numeric data, while distinguishing temporary changes from saved custom views. Next, learners analyze list data with Power BI using the “Visualize this list” feature to automatically generate charts and graphs from list content. They interpret default visuals, adjust aggregations, and publish reports back to SharePoint for broader visibility. Finally, the course covers exporting list data to Excel for advanced analysis, including exporting views, enabling refreshable connections, and creating pivot tables or charts based on live SharePoint data, and compares dynamic Excel exports with static CSV files to help users choose the right format. By the end, participants can edit, organize, visualize, and export list data effectively.
